Falling ill on holiday can cause a huge amount of distress and can often lead unexpected out of pocket expenses.
Whilst on holiday have you experienced:
sickness?
stomach cramps?
diarrhoea?
Tour operators often tell their customers that these symptoms are simply due to a change in diet or climate, in most cases these symptoms are the result of food poisoning.
If you can answer yes to the following questions and the holiday happened within the last 3 years then you may be able to make a claim for compensation
Did your illness occur on a holiday booked as a (flight and hotel) package with a UK tour operator – either in the hotel or food poisoning on an excursion booked directly from the same tour operator (rather than separately with a local operator)
Did the symptoms last at least 5 days?
Did you report it locally to anyone?
